Scarlet Nantes Carrot
Scarlet Nantes Carrot
Scarlet Nantes is a great all round carrot that thrives in different growing conditions. Long, slender, sweet, and crisp with the slightly blunt ends of a nantes type, they are sure to please!
We are so excited to offer carrots for the first time! They are difficult to grow for seed here on the coast because they cross with the wild carrot, Queen Anne’s Lace. So we outsourced this seed from our friend and super seed grower Julie, with Winnow Seed Co in Nelson.
Direct seed 1 inch deep into loose smooth soil and thin to 2 inches apart. For best results sow later in May to avoid slugs and cool soils, successively up till mid-July for a winter crop. Enjoy carrots almost all year long! ~500 sds
Latin: Daucus carota subsp. sativus
Certified organic in British Columbia. KOGS #108.
