Marketmore 76 Cucumber
Marketmore 76 Cucumber
Crisp and mild tasting variety that keeps good flavour even over periods of heat stress. These healthy plants will produce 8-9inch beauties over a long season. Originally developed in 1968 at Cornell University and perfected over the years to be particularly vigorous. An all round great cuke for fresh eating or pickling! Grown by our fellow seed growers at Good Earth Farms.
Sow April – May and transplant in June. To transplant, harden off the seedlings gradually and plant in a spot that receives full sun. Or direct seed in mid-June: make mounds 45cm apart with compost mixed into the soil and sow three seeds per mound, 2.5cm deep. Thin to the strongest seedling when the first true leaves have appeared. Water the soil around plants; keep leaves dry. Protect from birds! 65 days to maturity.
