Durabel holds beautifully all through winter and is later than most varieties in putting up a seed stalk in Spring. Lovely dark green leaves and straight shanks. The more buried or mulched, the more white and tender the shanks will be! A versatile variety that is delicious cooked; try leek fritters, use in soup, or simply replace onions with leeks. You’ll be a fan of having it available as a staple on your table this Fall and Winter!
Start in early Spring in a greenhouse to transplant when the soil is dry enough to work, or direct seed in late Spring. Thin to 8″ apart. 125 days
